This top wedge hit shield design offers more protection for powerful in and up contact drills. This may be either front on tackling drills, or, the body position of the ball carrier going into tackle contact.
The wedge also provides a thicker foam area for greater protection and contact absorption. The angle gives the holder more protection from any possibility of the runners shoulder slipping up and hitting the chin or head.
This hit shield is also great for breakdown training over the ball, the thick wedge is a good contact point for the first cleaner.
